Late Night Tour: Performance of Entrapment with Artists Jane & Louise Wilson
Join artist duo Jane & Louise Wilson for an exclusive late-night tour of their installation Performance of Entrapment at London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE.
Performance of Entrapment centres on 2,000-year-old oak stakes discovered during excavations for Bloomberg’s European headquarters, believed to have once supported a crossing over the River Walbrook – an ancient waterway that flowed beside the Temple of Mithras and still runs beneath the streets of modern London. Using microscopic imagery, the Wilsons draw inspiration from the wood’s structure and DNA sequencing to create large-scale, visually layered artworks.
The tour will also include the Roman artefacts discovered on the site, and the Roman Temple of Mithras.
The tour is designed for adults. Accompanying children over 10 years old are welcome but must be supervised.
