Thornbridge Brewery at City Beerfest!

About Thornbridge Brewery

Thornbridge began in 2005 when the founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall.

Their first brew was Lord Marples, a 4% classic bitter, which went on to become a core Thornbridge beer. In mid-2005 Jaipur was born. A 5.9% IPA packed with American hops and like nothing else in the beer industry at that time. Following an array of awards and national recognition, Jaipur catapulted Thornbridge into the spotlight, demand outstripped supply and the need for a new Brewery became clear. In 2009 a brand-new state of the art brewery was built at Riverside, Bakewell to meet with demand and allow Thornbridge to develop their range of beers. In 2024 they were able to rescue an historic Burton Union kit.

Read on to discover what they are bringing to City Beerfest 2026.

🍻 Meet the Line‑Up: Your Tasting Journey

Jaipur

5.9% ABV | Ale | On Keg

Think bold, hop‑forward, and perfectly balanced.

Jaipur is Thornbridge’s flagship beer, bursting with US hop character. Grapefruit, lemon and tropical fruit notes shine through, balanced by an elegant English malt base of Maris Otter that keeps things light, drinkable, and beautifully harmonious.

Best enjoyed: when you’re craving big flavour with impeccable balance.

Lukas

4.2% ABV | Helles Lager | On Keg | Gluten‑Free

Think smooth, elegant, and quietly refined.

Brewed with traditional Bavarian ingredients and given a long lagering period, Lukas is a classic Munich‑style Helles. Straw‑blonde in appearance, it delivers a full yet sparklingly light mouthfeel with crisp, clean refreshment throughout.

Best enjoyed: cold, calm, and savoured sip by sip.

Crux

5.4% ABV | Keg | Ale | Vegan

Brock

4.1% ABV | Stout | On Keg

Think rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying.

Pitch black with a lasting creamy tan head, Brock opens with aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Velvety smooth on the palate, flavours of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee are balanced by gentle sweetness and restrained bitterness.

Best enjoyed: when you’re in the mood for something dark, smooth, and indulgent.

Green Mountain 0.5%

0.5% ABV | Low‑Alcohol Ale | Can | Vegan

Think juicy, hazy, and impressively full‑flavoured.

This low‑alcohol version of a Thornbridge favourite pours a hazy golden colour and delivers classic tropical aromas of mango and pineapple. Soft, rounded and refreshing, it offers all the flavour you’d expect — without the alcohol.

Best enjoyed: anytime you want bold hop character with lower strength.
