Frequently Asked Questions about City Beerfest

What is City Beerfest?

City Beerfest is an all-day festival of beer, food, and live music held in Guildhall Yard, all in support of charity. The event is run in partnership with The Worshipful Company of Brewers, whose member brewers generously donate all the beer to raise money in support of The Lord Mayor's Appeal.

How does it work?

Entry to Guildhall Yard is free. However, to sample the beers and participate in the event (and contribute to the cause), you must purchase a City Beerfest Beer Package, which includes 4 Beerfest tokens and a glass. Each token is 1 half pint. Beer is only served in official City Beerfest glasses.

What if I want more beer in addition to the 4 half pints included in the Beer Package?

Brewers do not take direct payment - you must purchase tokens instead. Each token can be exchanged for a half pint. Additional tokens can be purchased in advance online or at the box office on the day.

What beers are available?

Thirteen breweries will be offering a range of lagers, IPAs, and ales. You can find more details at thecityofldn.com/city-beerfest or by scanning the QR code on the event map on the day.

Are there any low-alcohol and gluten-free options available?

There are four low (0.5%) and alcohol-free options from Damm, Shepherd Neame, Thornbridge, and Warsteiner. There are also six gluten-free options from Harbour, Ossett, and Thornbridge. Most beers are vegan, but please ask the brewers for confirmation. Soft drinks are available from the food stalls.

Are other drinks available?

Beerfest serves beer only, with no other alcoholic options available. But soft drinks are available to purchase from our food vendors.

Where can I get food?

There are three food concessions offering a variety of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. You can purchase food directly from the vendors and do not need a Beer Package to do so.

Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?

As City Beerfest supports charitable causes, we’re unable to offer refunds. However, all profits from the event are donated to charity, so your purchase will still be contributing to a good cause.

If I’ve booked more than one ticket, do I need to collect them all?

For bookings of six beer packages or more, we kindly ask one nominated person to collect all tickets and distribute them to the group.

Are children permitted to attend?

Children are welcome in Guildhall Yard, but please note that this event is not designed for families. We recommend attendance for those aged 18 and over. Challenge 25 is in operation and no alcohol will be served unless valid ID can be presented on request.

Can I bring my dog to City Beerfest?

Only assistance dogs are permitted in Guildhall Yard.
