Christmas Markets in the City of London

By Luke Chapman

The lights are on, the switch-on events were huge, and the City is lit up and full of festivities, so what now… Well, it’s time to enjoy it! How does a glass of mulled wine, some boutique crafts, and maybe a bratwurst sound?

We’re rounding up all of the City’s Christmas markets so you can enjoy the festivities throughout the month, so without further ado:

Paternoster Square

In summer, you’ll find deck chairs around the square, and in winter you’ll find little outlets selling warm foods, sausages, and gorgeous stocking fillers that are unique and make for great presents! This market is the perfect way to kill time on an hour-long lunch, and get those Christmas gifts for loved ones.couple looking at a Christmas decorated market stall

St Paul's Market

Right around the corner from Paternoster Square, you’ll find a row of wooden huts filled with Christmassy goods along St Paul’s Churchyard. There’s no better setting than one of London’s most iconic landmarks, so where better to grab a mulled wine and get some unique gifts!

Guildhall Christmas Market

The City’s original Christmas market, AND in aid of charity, on December 8th and 9th Guildhall will be transformed into a wonderful wintry wonderland.

For two days only, you can expect exclusive access to areas of Guildhall which are normally closed to the public, and you can get all your Christmas presents sorted!

Tickets are from £7, but you can be assured of picking up some great finds here and helping a great cause while taking in history. Book your tickets and get more information online.

The Makers Market

As part of Fleet Street Quarter’s festive offerings, they’ll be hosting a local makers market filled with crafted goods at New Street Square.

There’ll be carolers, a cosy festive cabin and an appearance from Snoopy!

Leadenhall Market

Another cheating one as it’s not quite a Christmas market, but it’s probably London’s most iconic market that’s turned Christmassy!

The famous shops are still there, and they’ll be accompanied by twice-daily snowfall (at 12 and 6) and, of course, the gorgeous Christmas tree right at the heart of the space!

Leadenhall is always worth a visit, so check out the full offerings.
