A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
On the Second Saturday of every month, we run themed family events. This coming Saturday 11 May is all about Animal Magic!
Animals inspired some of the earliest artworks in the world and have remained a popular subject ever since.
Join our Second Saturday Family Activities to discover some of the animals in our collection: complete a trail and find some of the surprising animals hidden in our artworks, create your animal artwork, or simply enjoy an animal inspired story.
There will be storytelling at:
- 11.30am-11.50am
- 2.30pm-2.50pm
A story corner with soft cushions, costumes, and building bricks will also be available.
Please note this family session runs between 11- 4pm. Plan to make a day of it - bring a picnic lunch to have in Guildhall Yard, or eat nearby.
This event is for children aged 3-13 and their families, and it is not suitable for individual adults. The activities are free but booking is advised.
Sign up to the family mailing list to be the first to hear about upcoming events.
