
A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
At their next Second Saturday on 10 May we are celebrating Turner's 250th anniversary with a special display of their very own collection painting 'View at Hythe', Kent 1824 for one month only (until 19 May) located on the balcony leading to the Undercroft Gallery - ground floor.
They will have a fun range of activities for all the family, including;
11am to 4pm Craft Activities:
- Create a Turner landscape inspired diorama - bring a shoebox!
- Make your own Turner mini-zine
11.30am and 2.30pm Storytime sessions in Main Gallery (approx 20 mins).
Includes a story corner with portable library, cushions, costumes, and soft play building bricks.
Plan to make a day of it and bring a picnic lunch to have at the Guildhall Art Gallery (cloakroom) or eat nearby.
This event is for children aged 3 to 11 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
The activities are free, whilst booking is advised - we also welcome walk-ins on the day.
