Christmas in the City – The light installations you need to know

Some of the festive switch-ons have died down, so now is the perfect chance to head out and experience all the festive fun around the Square Mile.

Each of the City Business Improvement Districts have put together a programme of festive fun to bring joy to the whole City of London.

With the five areas coming together to fill the breadth of the Square Mile, no matter where you are in the City, there’ll be something right around the corner.

Aldgate Connect – The Famous Lantern Trail Returns

The much-loved Aldgate in Winter Festival returned last week and launched the beloved lantern trail created by local schools, community groups and artists.

Take a wander through Aldgate and discover the 8 glowing artworks.

Cheapside Business Alliance – Unveiling Christmas in Cheapside

This Christmas, Cheapside Business Alliance is lighting up with a series of dazzling lights, events, tours and workshops, all with a Dickensian twist.

Expect a glowing lantern, festive trees and a welcoming atmosphere perfect for Christmas shopping and dining.

Culture Mile – Christmas in the Culture Mile

Culture Mile is once again coming to life with a range of festive fun events.

Their Christmas Lights Trail is the standout crowd pleaser this year, where you can follow the Culture Mile map and be taken on a journey through the square mile to experience the City like never before.

Eastern City – Wishing you a Christmas like No Other

The Eastern City returns with London’s tallest Christmas tree, and if that wasn’t enough for you, right opposite is possibly the world’s largest ever Christmas wreath!

They’ve also got daily light shows, community Christmas trees, City Light Illuminations, and of course all the food and drink the area offers, including the finest dining and drinks around!
