A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a fun‑filled Second Saturday Family Day at Guildhall Art Gallery on 11 April. Visit the Gallery for a relaxed, welcoming day designed for families, with plenty of opportunities to get creative, enjoy stories, and explore at your own pace.

Second Saturday sessions always include hands‑on arts and crafts inspired by the Gallery’s collections and exhibitions, cosy story time sessions, and a dedicated book and play corner with comfy cushions, fun costumes and soft‑play building bricks for little ones.

We’ll be sharing the full programme of activities for the day soon, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of what you can look forward to:

11am & 2pm: Story sessions celebrating London, creativity, art, artists, and the City.

Admission

The activities are free; however, booking is encouraged as it helps the Gallery ensure they have enough resources for everybody. Walk-ins are welcome on the day.

The Guildhall Art Gallery is free to enter and offers plenty to explore, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to enjoy outside in Guildhall Yard or in the gallery's large cloakroom area.

This event is for children aged 3 to 13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
