Bartholomew Fair Market Place

Recreating the original hustle and bustle of the Cloth Fair with our alfresco dining and hang out spot.

Sample the delicious range of food and drink our nearby businesses have to offer and we will provide comfortable sitting, colourful decor and entertainment. So sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere of Bartholomew Fair all around you. The Market Place is the perfect space to spend time with friends and family between shows, but don't worry there's plenty to keep you entertained with walkabout performances, live music and Charity Super.Mkt pop up shops.

Week 1 - 31 August to 2 September: Carter Lane, 1 to 2 September: Paternoster Square

Week 2 - 7 to 9 September: Middlesex Street

Week 3 - 14 to 16 September - Cloth Fair and Leadenhall Building (The Cheesegrater)

Timing/Duration:

Thursdays and Fridays: 12noon to 8pm.

Saturdays: 1pm to 8pm.

The Cheesegrater Market Place (14 to 16 September)

He She Eat - Award-winning pad thai specialist who cook street food to order. Sample their amazing dishes, including the sizzling prawns and tofu which are an absolute delight. 

Greek Wraps - A Taste of Greece! Transport yourself to the sun-kissed shores of Greece with every bite. 

Wonkey Donkey Street Bar - Where the Fun Flows! Step into the whimsical world of Wonkey Donkey, where the party never stops and good times are on tap! 

Cloth Fair Market Place (14 to 16 September)

Bring the marketplace back to the original home of Bartholomew Fair. Cloth Fair will be alive with pop ups, wandering sideshow artists, and live music to keep you entertained whilst you enjoy a cool and refreshing drink from the pubs and bars around Cloth Fair. 

Quench your thirst at the local establishments: 

The Butchers Hook and Cleaver - Located right next door to the famous Smithfield Market in London, The Butcher’s Hook and Cleaver is a beautiful, lively pub serving up delicious innovative pies and a wide range of stunning beers. 

Rising Sun – A tradition and historic pub by the meat market, serving a range of food and drinks, including Sam Smiths. 

Balfour at St Barts – Rich in heritage, Balfour at St Barts is the gathering place celebrating England’s finest wines. 

Fuller’s Ale and Pie House -  a traditional pub serving the best British pies and cask ale that England has to offer. 

16 WS Wine Bar – A cozy and welcoming wine bar with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Brilliant selection of wines and great food.

Mr. Burritos (Thursday 14 only)  - Taste the Fiesta! Get ready to embark on a culinary journey to the vibrant streets of Mexico right at your doorstep! 

Filifiesta - this up and coming street food stall takes Filipino cuisine to the next level. You will have to try their chicken adobo which is grilled to perfection. With flavours that are so tasty, once you have tried it you will be back for more. 

Carter Lane Market Place (31 August - 2 September)

Come and enjoy the eclectic mix of local businesses on Carter Lane with long communal dinning tables, beautiful décor and lots of walkabout performances to keep you entertained whilst you sample delights from: 

Patch Bar – Lively bar with a fun atmosphere and an award winning Happy Hour from 4pm – 7pm every day. 

Terra Rossa – truly authentic Italian dining experience, serving delicious pasta and pizza dishes using seasonal ingredients. 

Krua Thai Restaurant - family-run restaurant welcoming all Thai and spicy food lovers to come and have a taste. 

Falafel House - (not open on 2 Sept) vegetarian eatery which fuses Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes.  

Carter Lane Coffee House (not open on 2 Sept) – A secret coffee gem. Enjoy a coffee, expertly made their handsome Synesso Hydra with friendly baristas. 

Alchemy Coffee Shop (not open on 2 Sept) -  serving exceptional coffee. Pull up a pew and watch the fair go by with cake and a brew in our window seats, or grab a coffee to go and explore the fair and all the City has to offer. 

Paternoster Square Market Place (1-2 September)

Enjoy some delicious street food from our pop up market stalls and alfresco dining area. 

Eat Greek - authentic Greek souvlaki, served in a Greek pitta with salad, friends and homemade sauces inspired by the Greek god. 

Los Tacos – a family run taqueria, serving up halal Mexican food to the streets of London. From our grilled cilantro steak to our Chipotle Adobe sauce, almost all of our menu is made from scratch! 

Madison Prosecco Pod - a mobile tuk tuk bar, selling chilled Prosecco on tap for you to enjoy!

Middlesex Street Market Place (7-8 September)

Carrying on the longstanding history of markets in the area Middlesex Street will be filled with outdoor tables and chairs, fabric decorations and festoon lighting, with the local businesses opening their doors.

Barcelona Tapas - a small, family-run restaurant that’s been in business for over 30 years. Blending a lively atmosphere with authentic Spanish tapas, music and fine wines.

1947- Pure Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurant, Bar & Pizza Kitchen with an energetic and lively atmosphere and no-nonsense food at down-to-earth prices. 

The Bell - Independently owned and eclectically decorated Victorian pub. 

Mumbai Square – Traditional Indian restaurant with a proper passion for cooking reflecting the diverse flavours and culinary traditions of Mumbai. 

Mattarello Bolognese - The ultimate Italian experience. Bologna's fresh hand-made pasta is their speciality made by their ‘Sfoglino’ in front of you.
