In Conversation with Lucy Jones

In Conversation with Lucy Jones at Hypha Gallery 1/No. 1 Poultry

Join for a compelling conversation with Lucy Jones, acclaimed author of Matrescence, as she engages with participating artists from Cells and Love, an exhibition exploring the intimate, transformative, and often unseen territories of care, kinship, and embodied experience.

Drawing on her groundbreaking work on matrescence - the developmental transition of becoming a mother - Jones will delve into the emotional, biological, and social dimensions of caregiving, identity, and interdependence. Together with the artists, she will unpack how these themes materialize through visual, sonic, and interdisciplinary practices, revealing the deep connections between personal metamorphosis and collective forms of nurture.

This conversation invites audiences to reflect on the evolving meanings of parenthood, the politics of care, and the cellular and emotional bonds that shape our lives. Thought-provoking, intimate, and expansive, the event offers a rare opportunity to hear artists and author exchange insights on how love takes form - within bodies, communities, and creative work.

Time: Saturday 29 November, 4 to 6pm.
Ticket: £8
