Check availability

Join a live Calligraphy and Shamisen performance

Japan Night Ink and Strings is a unique one-night cultural experience taking place at the historic St Katharine Cree Church in the heart of the City of London.

The evening features an extraordinary live collaboration between internationally acclaimed Japanese calligraphy artist Setsuhi Shiraishi and London-based Tsugaru shamisen musician Hibiki Ichikawa, who performs regularly across the UK and Europe.

Through powerful live calligraphy and expressive shamisen music, sound, movement and ink interact in real time to create an immersive contemporary interpretation of traditional Japanese culture.

Guests will also be able to enjoy premium Japanese sake and beer available for purchase throughout the evening, alongside a small curated selection of Japanese cultural items and snacks.

The event offers London audiences a rare opportunity to experience Japanese visual art and live music together in an atmospheric and intimate church setting.

Time: Saturday 27 June 6.30–8pm

Tickets: Tickets must be reserved in advance.
