To mark the event of London Craft Week, Barts North Wing are hosting a full day of programming inluding a morning of talks with guest speakers, and an open afternoon for visitors to explore the iconic venue.
Conservation & Craftsmanship: Morning of Talks for London Craft Week
Join this morning of talks from heritage industry leaders where you'll hear from a brilliant line up of speakers to explore the importance of heritage crafts in restoration and conservation projects, such as the Sharing Historic Barts project.

Open Afternoon for London Craft Week
Drop in to Barts North Wing between 3–6pm for an open afternoon. There will be stalls in the Great Hall, giving you the opportunity to speak with expert craftspeople connected to the Sharing Historic Barts project. Stall holders will include Coniston, Woody Clark (Historic Interiors Designer and collaborator with Axminster Carpets), and the Institute of Conservation (ICON).

The Art of Illumination Workshop: Crafting with Gold Leaf for London Craft Week
Take inspiration from the gold gilding that decorates the ceiling of Barts North Wing’s Great Hall, and join artist Sarah Davis to learn the technique of illumination, the art of applying gold to paper. Gild and paint a unique illuminated design using 23.ct gold to take home and treasure. This is a completely beginner-friendly workshop, and Sarah will be showing you the way.
