Revealing the Medieval Jewish Cemetery Exhibition

Plan your visit

A Jewish Square Mile exhibition reveals a lost medieval burial ground, forgotten lives, and new research overturning long-held myths.

This exhibition returns with a new venue for Jewish Culture Month taking place between Monday 18 May until Saturday 13 June.

Just beyond London's old Roman Wall lies one of the City's most significant historic sites, the UK's oldest Jewish cemetery. Drawing on the latest research, this exhibition challenges enduring myths, uncovers forgotten lives and brings a hidden medieval world quietly back into view.

Tickets: Book your free tickets for the exhibition.

Time: 10am to 7pm Monday to Thursday between May 18 and 11 June, plus June 13.

The Exhibition Walk

Join a guided tour accompanying the Revealing the Medieval Jewish Cemetery exhibition at the London Archive. Walk the iconic Barbican and nearby streets, explore the site of the medieval Jewish cemetery and neighbourhoods where a vibrant Jewish community once lived and worked. Using place, story and scholarship, the tour undoes myths, revealing a hidden medieval landscape beneath the modern City.

Tickets: Tickets must be booked in advance.

Time: 12.30—2pm June 11

The London Archives is located in Clerkenwell (between Farringdon and Angel), just outside the boundary of The City of London.
