Right to the City: Artist-Led Women’s Night Walks

Sign-up now

Publica CIC invites women and non-binary people who live, work, or visit the City of London to participate in a series of creative workshops exploring safety at night, as part of their Right to the City initiative.

In collaboration with four artists, they are hosting four sessions across the City throughout March:

5 March: Out After Dark

Observing The City and Defining Hopes

Create collage poster artworks using the streets and your experiences after dark as key inspiration with Louisa Tan.

10 March: Soundscapes for Collective Reflection

Transform familiar streets into a space of collective reflection through poetry with Belinda Zhawi. Together, you will create a sonic map of your experiences that could serve as an advocacy tool for policy makers and urban planners.

19 March: Let’s Go The Long Way Round

Reimagining the alley as a space of empowerment

Through colourful light projections, dance, movement and body expressions, you will transform the alleyway into a safe space of empowerment and expression with Clara Fran and Beth Allen.

24 March: The Nightwatch Carnival

A Performative Reclamation of Space

Design fictional characters embodying your hopes of how you want to experience public space after dark with María Venegas Rabá. You will parade your character through the streets, bravely reclaiming the public realm.

Sign up to these sessions on their website. Last chance to apply: 11 Feb 2025.
