Kicking off the programming in the last part of the year, is Theatre Deli's final SHIFT+SPACE for 2024. They present for your tasting, 7 brand spanking new pieces of work in progress performances.
The season kicks of with spooky tale of the Ickworth Project (20th and 21st September), a horrifying dive into the life of John Hervey. Ordinary Sex, on the 26th and 27th September, puts a couple in the spotlight after one of them has been accused of sexual assault.
October begins with Home Projects, on the 4th and 5th, which is a ‘research-based performance challenging romantic and hegemonic notions of home’, including a combination of dance, spoken word, interviews, and an accompanying exhibition. D'Filth Drag brings Identity Kaleidoscope to Deli on the 11th and 12th of October, described as a ‘fierce, no-rules fusion of drag, clowning, and digital chaos that dives deep into queer and biracial identities with sharp humor and raw truth’. On the 18th and 19th, Adore offers a brand-new lyrical storytelling experience for anyone who’s ever fallen in love.
Rebecca Batala uses horror to delve into grief, loneliness, social housing, and inherited trauma in Band 2 on the 25th and 26th of October. Finishing off the season is the Danis Inferno (1st and 2nd November), delivering a scorching one woman musical comedy, exploring the intersection between the climate crisis and human desire.
