About Ossett Brewery

This is modern brewing and a quarter century of fierce independence. It’s brewing steeped in passion, and beers that have stood the test of time, but never once stood still. From a pioneering brewpub, to an unrelenting powerhouse, this was craft before we ever called it that. This is Ossett Brewery.

Their number one beer, White Rat, burst onto the scene as one of the hoppiest cask beers available back in 2011. It's bold, spiky, lip-puckering and moreish. Now Rat is taking over with a mischief of Rats emerging from Ossett Brewery.

White Rat

4% ABV | Cask | Pale Ale

Think bright, hoppy, and effortlessly drinkable.

White Rat is a very pale ale that showcases its hops front and centre. Brewed with low‑colour malt for a clean, light base, it allows the vibrant hop bill to shine. Aromas of citrus peel, pine resin, and subtle tropical notes leap from the glass, thanks to a classic blend of Cascade, Columbus, and Amarillo.

On the palate, it’s crisp and refreshing, with zesty grapefruit and lemon flavours balanced by a gentle, resinous bitterness. The finish is dry, aromatic, and inviting, making it a perfect go‑to pint that never feels heavy.

Best enjoyed: fresh from the cask, when you’re in the mood for something lively and flavourful.
